The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department will present free virtual Spring Break activities for youth ages 6 to 13 during the weeks of March 8 and March 15.

The PHXPlays at Home Virtual Spring Break Camp will provide two hours of weekday activities during those two weeks. Different themed programming will be offered each day from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants can register for all the activities or pick and choose based on their interest level. Programs range from arts and crafts, to sports and hiking, and trivia games and computer coding. A complete schedule and program descriptions are listed below.

While the programming and activities are free, registration is required. Registered participants will receive a unique code to virtually join the live video stream via Cisco Webex. Participants will also need to download the free Webex app through the iTunes or Android store, or search for and download it through their internet service provider.​

Programming and Activities Schedule:

Monday, March 8 and 15

Arts and Crafts – 1 to 2 p.m.
Participate in fun craft and painting projects using basic supplies. Each project will be guided step-by-step by Parks and Recreation Department staff.

Virtual Hike – 2 to 3 p.m. (March 8 only)
Explore the Ocotillo Trail with Park Ranger Washburn. He discovered a mysterious animal skull and needs your​ help figuring out what animal it came from.

Ancient Technology – 2 to 3 p.m. (March 15 only)
Learn about historic technology, such as adobe brick making and shell jewelry production.​

Tuesday, March 9 and 16

Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) – 1 to 2 p.m.
Explore the exciting world of computer coding in this fun and interactive class. Discover how you can do STEM at home using household items.

Disney World Tour – 2 to 3 p.m.
Participate in a fun adventure and trivia as we visit Disney World’s rides and attractions.

Wednesday, March 10 and 17

Sports – 1 to 2 p.m.
Experience classic sports and activities anywhere. This session blends instruction and entertainment to provide a fun hour of PHXPlays sports.​​

Name That Song – 2 to 3 p.m.
Listen to top-40 music and take your best guess at which song it is. Name the song and win a prize.

Thursday, March 11 and 18

Games and Trivia – 1 to 2 p.m.
Participate in a fun and interactive twist on new and classic games and trivia.

Medieval Times Adventure – 2 to 3 p.m.
The history of knights, horsemanship and sword techniques come to life in this virtual adventure. This will include reading time with the queen.

Friday, March 12 and 19

Music and Movement – 1 to 2 p.m.
Let’s have some fun and dance! Make sure you have enough space to move around. Also, dress up or decorate your room for a Luau dance party.​

Hip History Tour – 2 to 3 p.m.
If you like stories of ghosts and hauntings in Phoenix and other Arizona cities, then this is the hour to join us. Arizona’s Hip Historian will amaze with interactive fun and Arizona trivia.

In addition to the PHXPlays at Home Virtual Spring Break Camp, the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department is offering a variety of additional free and fee-based virtual programs, and free FitPHX fitness activities, for all ages and ability levels. Information is available at Phoenix.gov/Parks.
