Happy Month of May to all my favorite Epic Kids! It’s Emilia again, and this month I’m taking you to one of the most incredible brunch places around!

When I think of brunch, I think of girl time! So, my besties and I headed to Cala Scottsdale for a long overdue visit. Unknowingly, this restaurant also had a snake plant, which you may know by now, are my favorite. It’s the closest my mom will let me come to owning a snake.

Walking in, there were the most beautiful light fixtures and wall decor that reminded me of dream catchers. They covered the wall and were warm and inviting. Even though we were a few minutes early for our reservation, we were seated right away and ordered Shirley Temples. Our waitress was the sweetest and even brought me extra cherries!

When it comes to breakfast, I like pretty traditional items. So, I ordered the Farmstead Breakfast off of the adult menu. There was a kids’ menu, but I have a deep love for Sunny Side Up eggs! These organic gems were perfectly poppable and paired well with my sourdough toast. The butter was melted just right, and it made for ideal dipping! There were also two sausage links that were cooked to perfection with a bit of spice on them. It also came with some potatoes, which I shared with my mom and friends since potatoes aren’t my jam. However, the jam was incredible on my toast!

I did also eat a generous portion of my mom’s buttermilk pancakes; because…. pancakes. They came with whipped honey butter and pure maple syrup. Need I say more? I’ve never met a pancake I didn’t like, but these were extra delicious!

Overall, I had a 10/10 time at Cala with my besties! Between the staff, the atmosphere, my favorite people, and amazing food, I couldn’t have been happier. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out on your summer break, or it is a perfect spot for Mother’s Day!

Cala is located at 7501 E. Camelback Rd., in Scottsdale. For more information, visit calascottsdale.com.
