A Bigger Playground for Active Kids

KTR, a popular indoor action-sports company in Arizona, has opened a brand-new facility at Cannon Beach in Mesa. KTR is known for exciting activities like skateboarding, parkour, gymnastics, ninja courses, and more—all designed with kids in mind.
This new location joins other KTR centers in Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale, making it easier than ever for families to find a place to play, learn, and stay active.

The Cannon Beach area is a huge 37-acre entertainment district with shops, restaurants, and even a giant man-made surf lagoon. KTR is the main indoor recreation spot in this fun-filled neighborhood.

From “Kids That Rip” to Today

KTR began more than 15 years ago in Mesa under the name Kids That Rip. The first center quickly became famous for helping young skateboarders train like pros while still welcoming beginners.
The same owners who run the Scottsdale location now guide the Mesa and Cannon Beach centers too. Their goal has stayed the same: keep things safe, family-friendly, and full of chances to learn new skills—especially important during hot Arizona summers.

KTR Scottsdale became a model for the company. It has trampolines, ninja and parkour zones, sport courts, a Sky Bridge, and a skatepark for skateboards, scooters, and BMX riders. Many parents love that KTR offers both classes and open play, giving kids structure and freedom.

The new Cannon Beach site uses this successful design but adds bigger play zones, updated equipment, and a beach-style look to match its surroundings.

What’s Inside the New KTR?

KTR Cannon Beach includes cool zones for:

  • Skateboarding, scooters, and BMX
  • Parkour and ninja training
  • Trampolines
  • Soft play areas for younger kids

The programs offered include:

  • Skateboarding and Jr. Rippers (ages 6–12)
  • Ninja and parkour (ages 3–15)
  • Girls gymnastics and tumbling (ages 6–12)
  • Sweet Peas preschool programs (ages 6 months–5 years)

Families can also enjoy open-play sessions, birthday parties, camps, and group events.

Part of the Cannon Beach Adventure

The Cannon Beach development is designed to feel like a coastal town, complete with a walkable layout and ocean-themed decorations. KTR fits in perfectly, giving families a fun place to play even when outdoor temperatures soar.

Helping the Community Grow Stronger

KTR has always cared about supporting kids and local families. The company plans to welcome school groups, church programs, and nonprofit organizations at no cost during certain times.
This continues KTR’s long tradition of offering affordable, skill-building fun for children of all levels—from first-timers to future athletes.

Why Kids and Parents Love Indoor Play

Arizona’s hot summers make indoor recreation especially important. KTR offers a safe, air-conditioned space where kids can move, explore, and practice taking smart risks.
Parents appreciate having supervised activities and structured classes, while kids enjoy the chance to jump, climb, roll, and ride without worrying about the heat.

What’s Next?

For families in Mesa and nearby areas, the new KTR at Cannon Beach provides a fresh, exciting place to stay active all year long.

As the Cannon Beach district continues to grow, KTR is expected to stay one of the community’s favorite family attractions.
