New Entertainers and Activities as Weekly Series Continues at 6th Street Park

What do you get when you combine classic homestyle pleasures like backyard games with lively music, food, and drinks in an inviting park setting? It’s Downtown Tempe Authority’s Park After Dark Event Series – laid-back evenings ideal for mixing, mingling, and getting back into the community. The fun continues every Saturday in August (through September 11) with an expanded lineup of musical entertainment and even more activities. Taking place at 6th Street Park under the shade trees, the series continues each Saturday evening for a quick cool-down as the day fades to dusk.

On Saturday, Aug. 14, lovebirds can celebrate a romantic Date Night at Park After Dark. After dining in Downtown Tempe, the first 100 people to bring their receipts to Park After Dark will have the chance to receive a free Mexican paleta dessert, compliments of Paletas Betty. Then couples can wind down the night with live music by Robby Roberson, a round of mini golf, and a selection of outdoor games.

The entertainment and activities lineup for the remaining Park After Dark events is as follows:

  • Aug. 7: Musical entertainment by Roosevelt Street Jazz and jumbo glow games
  • Aug. 14: Date Night with musical entertainment by Robby Roberson and mini golf
  • Aug. 21: Musical entertainment by Tindal Muzic and jumbo glow games
  • Aug. 28: Musical entertainment by Furious Styles Crew-Worth the Weight
  • Sept. 4: Musical entertainment by Furious Styles Crew-Worth the Weight
  • Sept. 11: Musical entertainment by Aiyana Havir and special outdoor activities

Pedal Haus Brewery will be on-site each week hosting a beer and wine garden with beverages for purchase, and several restaurants nearby offer takeout to enjoy in the park.
