DESCRIPTION:Downtown Tempe’s popular Second Sundays on Mill series will culminate with an event celebrating all things sustainable and green in honor of Earth Month. Visitors can get “Down To Earth” with a day filled with earth-friendly activities the whole family can enjoy. As always\, admission is free. \nTo celebrate Earth Month and Tempe’s Bike Month\, the Cycling Without Age Tempe nonprofit and Culdesac‘s car-free neighborhood will provide free electric bike rides at Sixth Street & Mill Avenue\, as well as sharing bike safety tips\, introducing the joys of e-bike rides and supporting riders of all ages. \nAttendees will also be able craft their own succulent terrarium with Jade & Clover\, and create and take home their own seed starter kit. Those who bike\, walk or take public transit to the event — or who bring in clothing to donate — will get a free Second Sundays reusable tote bag. \nAdditional highlights of the day include a free outdoor yoga session with Arizona Yoga Company\, 3-point basketball contest hosted by City of Tempe Parks and Recreation\, comedy show by Julius the Yoyo Guy\, dance battles with Furious Styles\, live music across three music areas and plenty of playtime with free Mini Golf and jumbo lawn games. \nA wide selection of delicious eats and treats can be found at Tempe’s local restaurants — many with comfortable patios for enjoying some extra time outdoors. Family-friendly snack and beverage vendors will also be on site\, including Maui Wowi\, Pearls Mini Donuts\, the Salted Knot and Amigos AZ. \nIn addition\, the outdoor market features 75-plus Arizona artisans\, crafters and makers offering a wide selection of handcrafted items\, including jewelry\, edible creations\, ceramics and paintings. New vendors this month include Earth Sugar\, a first-of-its kind superfood confectionary that specializes in raw and organic treats; homemade garden boxes by Garden with Janet; and vintage games and collectibles by Subjective Vintage.
